Solar1 — Install Operations
Office and field teams. Same system. Real-time.
Most install coordination still runs over WhatsApp. Office teams update spreadsheets that field crews never see. Solar1 connects both sides of the operation — without a separate app for each.
3.2 hrs
per day lost to coordination overhead per project manager
3.2 hrs
per day lost to coordination overhead
Status calls, WhatsApp updates, spreadsheet edits — the cost of running office and field from different systems.
1 in 4
install delays caused by preventable miscommunication
Wrong equipment delivered. Crew arrives for a panel install when the permit isn't approved. Schedule conflicts nobody saw coming.
$6,200
avg margin lost per job to untracked field costs
Change orders that weren't captured. Labor overruns nobody recorded. Material substitutions that never made it back to accounting.
“Office teams and field teams should be working from the same operational system. When they don't, the gap between them is where delays and cost overruns live.”
Crew scheduling — built around your active job list
When your job queue is in Solar1, scheduling is built on top of it. Drag-and-drop crew assignment. Availability conflicts surface automatically — no double-booking a crew that's permitted for a C&I install that runs two days. Crew certifications (NABCEP, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, electrical license) are tracked and flagged when a job requires a credential the assigned crew doesn't hold.
- Visual schedule board across all active crews and jobs
- Crew certification validation before assignment
- Conflict detection — permits, crew availability, equipment delivery
- Schedule changes push to crew mobile in real time

Mobile access — field teams update from the job site
Field crews update job progress from their phone. Install milestones marked complete — roof mount, racking, panels, inverter, electrical, inspection ready — trigger the next workflow step in the office automatically. Photos, measurements, and change order requests attach directly to the project record. Office teams see updates in real time, without a status call.
- Native mobile access on iOS and Android
- Milestone completion triggers office workflow automatically
- Photo and document capture attached to project record
- Change order submission from the field — no paperwork

Work orders — clear instructions, captured costs
Each crew assignment generates a work order — scope, materials, special instructions, and any job-specific requirements pulled from the project record. Material quantities attach to inventory. Labor hours flow to job costing. What was done on site, what was used, and what changed all land in one place — without a coordinator tracking it manually.
- Work order generated from project scope and crew assignment
- Material pull from inventory — quantities tracked per job
- Labor hours captured against job cost record
- Completed work orders archived in the project record

Real-time job status — for operations managers, not just field crews
The operations dashboard shows every active job: permit status, crew assignment, install stage, and any open issues. When something goes wrong on site — weather delay, material shortage, inspection hold — the flag appears in the dashboard before the coordinator finds out in a status meeting. Decisions get made with current information, not yesterday's update.
- Live job status dashboard across all active projects
- Issue flagging from field — escalates to project manager
- Permit and inspection status per job, updated in real time
- Daily and weekly completion metrics for operations review

Field teams can access everything from the job site.
Native iOS and Android. The same data the office sees, on a phone that fits in a work belt. Installers mark milestones, flag issues, capture photos, and submit change order requests — without calling the office.
- Full project record access — offline-capable
- Milestone completion with photo documentation
- Change order and issue flagging from site
- Crew-to-office messaging within the project record
How Solar1 compares
Scoop Solar
Field service only. No job costing, no inventory, no milestone invoicing.
JobNimbus
Built for roofing. No AHJ lookup, no solar-specific milestone workflow.
Spreadsheets
Manual. No real-time visibility. Breaks down above 15 concurrent jobs.
Solar1
Full operational platform — scheduling, field mobile, work orders, and job costing in one system.
Common questions
Install operations — answered directly.
Does Solar1 replace field service tools like Scoop Solar?
Yes. Solar1 includes the crew scheduling, dispatch, work orders, and mobile field access that Scoop Solar provides — plus the financial layer (job costing, milestone invoicing, QuickBooks sync) that Scoop Solar does not. Most teams using Scoop Solar have a separate accounting or job costing tool. Solar1 consolidates both.
Can field crews use Solar1 on a phone without an office login?
Yes. Solar1's mobile interface is built for field use — milestone completion, photo capture, issue flagging, and change order submission. Crew members get a role-appropriate mobile view. They see their assigned jobs and update progress. They don't see financials or administrative data unless their role includes it.
How does Solar1 handle change orders in the field?
A field crew member submits a change order request from their phone — scope of change, reason, and any supporting photos. The project manager reviews and approves or rejects in the system. Approved change orders update the job cost record and trigger an updated work order. The approval chain is documented in the project record.
Does Solar1 work offline when there is no cell signal on a job site?
Core job data — project record, work order, crew assignment — is cached for offline access. Updates made offline sync when the device reconnects. For remote job sites with limited signal, this means field crews can still access their work order, mark milestones, and capture photos without a live connection.
